Project Approach

At Perez, we do not design or build or develop all buildings or open spaces in one style. Our work is absolutely rooted in the place in which it is located, and in response to our clients and end users’ needs.  Our project approach is to first listen and study the project site, then react.  Understanding the project’s purpose, place, schedule, and budget are paramount to assuring a successful project for our clients and meaningful impactful purpose-driven work for our project team.

At Perez, our first priority is assuring our clients’ mission and goals are achieved. Equally important is our duty to our staff and our community.  For our staff, we endeavor to provide a safe, secure working environment, where their work can be appreciated, and their professional development is cultivated.  Each individual at Perez is instrumental in project development, from the intern to the principal.  Our studio hierarchy is intentionally as flat as possible, allowing for junior staff to gain experience, learn, and participate in all facets of the work early in their careers.

At Perez, we consider our project philosophy to be contextualism.  Our projects are not designed in a vacuum – we consider how our work impacts the community now, in the near future, and in the far distant future.  This includes environmental impacts, such as water and energy consumption, as well as impacts to the social fabric of a community’s culture.  Contextualism means that each project is unique, because of the physical and cultural environment in which it resides.

Perez designs, builds, and develops safe and sustainable communities where people thrive.
