OVERVIEW OF POSITION


Perez is seeking to fill the position of Licensed Architect, a permanent position offered by
Perez, A Professional Corporation in New Orleans, LA. The selected candidate will be
responsible for:


> Producing all aspects of schematic, design development, and construction
drawings and details as a Licensed Architect.
> Independently performing professional architectural services on behalf of Perez
as a Licensed Architect.
> Will be responsible for complex projects ranging from small to large in magnitude
from project startup and pre-design through construction and occupancy.
> Actively setting and managing client budgets, schedules, and programs; budget
and schedule; project communications and documentation; and project team
assignments.
> Preparing estimates, determining scopes of work, and preparing proposals and
contracts on projects of varying size and complexity.
> Creating quality project designs and Construction Documents and plans for all
phases of projects.
> Coordinating building design consultants while monitoring the production of
drawings.

> Signing, stamping, and certifying drawings, renderings, specifications, and
designs used in residential and commercial building and construction projects
using License.
> Coordinating and finalizing professional architectural services using proper and
up-to-date software.
> Solving problems and finding alternate solutions.
> Translating design ideas into clear and concise details and construction
documents.
> Taking direction, initiative and working both independently or on a team,
depending on the project type and magnitude.
> Maintaining strong team communication, problem-solving, and organizational
skills.
> Acting as Project Manager during the Construction Phase of projects.
> Client, team, and project coordination including full coordination with structural,
civil, MEP, and landscape consultants.
> Maintaining organization of project records and specifications.
> Checking completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
> Signing, stamping, and certifying drawings, specifications, and design changes at
the construction stage.
> Conducting and documenting site visits, and reviews and processes submittals,
RFIs, and substitution requests during construction.
>Managing and supervising an Architectural Drafter/Intern.

o Directing the Architectural Drafter/Intern to perform routine and limited
architectural assignments.
o Exposing the Architectural Drafter/Intern to most aspects of the
architectural profession guiding the individual to become a Licensed
Architect.
o Providing training in researching building codes and the use of software in
the industry.
o Responsible for all work performed by the subordinate Architectural
Drafter/Intern.
o Providing performance review of the Architectural Drafter/Intern.
o Making suggestions to the Board of Directors when it comes to
promoting, retaining, or firing the subordinate Architectural Drafter/Intern.

> Leading client meetings and communication.
> Coordinating and integrating professional architectural elements into a unified
design for client review and approval.
> Serving as primary liaison contact with clients to bring projects to completion on
schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction.
> Developing design solutions and presenting project designs and plans to clients.
> Leading Building and Life Safety code research.

> Maintaining working knowledge of building codes, standards, building
construction, and structure.


REQUIREMENTS

> 2 years of verifiable experience as an Architectural Drafter/Intern.
> Master’s degree in architecture.
> Must be a registered architect in Louisiana with an architecture license from the
State of Louisiana Board of Architectural Examiners.
