A new 63,000 square foot community center replaced the old center that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, providing a new gathering place for Lower Ninth Ward residents– primary care health clinic, senior center, multi-purpose gym with a theater stage, youth center with classroom, game rooms, swimming pool, dance and art space, administrative areas, and a New Orleans Police Department sub-station.
