Perez designed this 152 unit, $35 million, a multi-family residential project as a New Urbanist community, reinstating the traditional street grid, designing smaller-scale traditionally styled duplexes and four-plexes to replace the former superblock HUD development. Sidewalks, front porches, rear yards, community parks, and recreation areas recreated the original urban fabric that existed prior to the construction of the HUD superblock.

Originally designed in the 1950’s by Joseph Bartholomew, the first African-American golf course designer in the nation, Perez redesigned an entirely new complex in 3 phases, after Hurricane Katrina completely destroyed it, recreating an important community gathering space for Pontchartrain Park—golf course, landscaping, irrigation system, clubhouse, restaurant, pro shop, community meeting space, maintenance & cart storage buildings.

Perez fast-tracked the design of the renovation of the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, which had to be completed in time for the 2012 Super Bowl. Perez created a unifying theme of lively colors and finishes, to update the aging terminal. Perez also designed repairs of the entire airport immediately after Hurricane Katrina.
